Being a Beaver
Beaver Sea Scouts is the youngest section of the Scout movement, specially designed for children aged 6 to 8 years old. Meetings are packed with energy, creativity, and activities that help children build confidence and life skills in a safe and supportive environment. At 1st Clifton Sea Scouts, Beaver Scouts don’t just sit still and listen — they explore, create, play, learn, and laugh together. Every week brings something new. One evening they might be learning basic water safety, the next they could be building dens, playing team games, cooking marshmallows over a fire, or heading off on a mini adventure outdoors
Awards
Yes, Beaver Sea Scouts is full of games, laughter, and muddy adventures — but behind all the fun is something incredibly valuable. Children are learning resilience, communication, kindness, and responsibility from an early age. They’re discovering how to work together, help others, and tackle challenges positively. These are skills that stay with them long after the meeting ends.
Uniform and badge placement
You don’t need a uniform to join. But once you have made your promise, got your group necker and start earning badges you are going to want to proudly display them! At 1st Clifton all we ask is that you have a Jumper for your badges and wear your necker
Beaver Promise
At 1st Clifton Sea Scouts, the Beaver Scout Promise is an exciting moment for every young person. It’s more than just words — it’s a promise to be kind, helpful, adventurous, and to always try their best. For many children aged 6–8, it marks the beginning of an incredible journey filled with friendship, confidence, teamwork, and unforgettable adventures. Watching young Beavers proudly make their promise is a reminder that even the smallest acts of kindness and courage can make a big difference.
