At 1st Clifton Sea Scouts, we strive to offer an excellent programme of activities using appropriate and well-maintained equipment. At the same time we try to keep our subscriptions at an affordable and realistic level to encourage as many young people as possible to join the group and share these experiences.

Minibuses, safety boats, bouyancy aids and the like are essential to keep our members safe and run our activities. We aim to maximise the level of external funding we receive but still need to rely heavily on our own fundraising efforts and the support of parents to regularly renew these items and finance many other smaller expenses of running the group.

Parent volunteers are an essential element of our fundraising – we can’t do it without you! All our Group and Section Leaders and Assistants work very hard each week organising and leading activities for our young people. Show your support and gratitude for them by helping to raise funds and enable them to concentrate their efforts on continuing this valuable work.

Please contact support@yorkseascouts.org.uk if you would like more information on any aspect of our fundraising.

Our principal areas of fundraising are listed below – we are always looking for new ideas too.

Waste Paper collections – bring your papers for recycling or help with the 6-weekly collections

Hall Hire – hire the hall for parties or events

Marquee Hire – many hands are needed to help set up and take down

Christmas and Summer Fairs – events held each year if possible featuring many different stalls  and activities. Donations of goods and help on the day are always needed.

Clothes collections – bring your bagged-up used clothes and leave in the box in the porch of the scout hut at any time
