Scouting helps young people to enjoy new adventures, experience the outdoors, interact with others, gain confidence and have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
As a Sea Scout group, we provide many of the usual activities you would expect from a scout group (including archery, air rifle shooting, wall-climbing and camping) but with an emphasis on water-based activities and the incorporation of many aspects of naval and nautical traditions.
We have been a Royal Navy recognised group since 1985. Only 101 RN recognised places are allocated nationally and we undergo regular inspections to ensure we continue to meet the very high standards expected.
During the summer term, our Scouts section meetings take place on the river using our own fleet of kayaks, sailing dinghies, Canadian canoes and pulling boats. Beavers and Cubs are offered a number of opportunities throughout the year to try out various water activities as well.
