1st Clifton Sea Scout Group is based near the River Ouse in York.

We are members of York Minster District within North Yorkshire County Scout division and part of the worldwide Scout Association movement.

RN badge1st Clifton Sea Scouts is proud to have been a Royal Navy recognised group since 1985. Only 101 RN recognised places are allocated nationally and we are undergo regular inspections to ensure we continue to meet the very high standards expected.

We run a range of activities similar to other scout groups but with a greater emphasis on water activities and the incorporation of many aspects of naval and nautical traditions. We have exclusive access to our own fleet of kayaks, sailing dinghies, Canadian canoes, pulling boats and a safety boat. We also have our own qualified Royal Yacht Association (RYA), British Canoe Union (BCU) and Amateur Rowing Association (ARA) instructors.

There are three sections within our group – Beavers for ages 6 to 8, Cubs for ages 8 to 10½ and Scouts for ages 10½ to 14. We aim for all our members to have fun whilst learning and developing new skills, interests and good citizenship.
