Waste paper collections

The amount of paper we receive and collect has dwindled substantially over recent years but the income we receive from still provides a vital boost to our Group funds. You can help by bringing your newspapers and those of your friends, family and neighbours to the scout hut each week.

We also run Saturday morning paper collections to collect from houses in our neighbourhood. To volunteer to help with this, please click on the relevant date below and select the type of help you can offer. We need a driver and adult assistant for each of  our van and minibus plus lots of additional help at the scout hut for unloading and stacking papers.

We can collect:

Newspapers, magazines (including glossy) and writing paper.

we can’t take:

Brown paper, cardboard, window envelopes, yellow pages, telephone directories, greeting cards.

Why do we collect?

We collect waste paper in the skip outside the scout hut to raise funds to support the activities of our Group. We receive approximately £500 per full skip so it is a very important source of fundraising income, helping to keep subscriptions as low as possible.

We currently collect from the streets listed HERE. If your street is not listed but you think we should add it to our route, please let us know and we will see if we can help.
